Frequently asked questions about the travel voucher

The answers below apply to travel vouchers that were issued due to the Covid-19 health crisis.
    • In the current context of the Covid-19 crisis, a travel voucher is a personal, non-transferable credit, which is valid until 31 December 2021 for a trip ending before 2022.
    • It can be used to purchase a ticket or extra options from the Air France and KLM websites or ticket offices, for a flight with Air France, KLM, Delta Air Lines, or Virgin Atlantic.
    • The ticket or paid options issued in exchange for the travel voucher must match the first and last name of the voucher holder.

We will send your travel voucher to the e-mail address you provided in your booking or online refund form. It usually takes 7 days to process but may take longer due to the large volume of requests we are currently receiving.

If there are several tickets or paid options in your booking file, your vouchers may be sent separately.

If the price of your new ticket is greater than the value of your voucher, we will add a bonus of up to 15% to the value of your voucher.

To benefit from this offer, use your voucher to purchase a ticket from Air France or KLM before 31 October 2020, for a trip beginning no later than 15 June 2021.

The bonus applies during the purchase a new ticket:
  • on the vouchers issued as a result of the Covid-19 crisis, in exchange for tickets or options, if your flight was cancelled or if you decided to cancel your trip,
  • on the total amount of your vouchers, taxes and surcharges included.

When several vouchers are used on the Air France website, the bonus is calculated on the total amount of your vouchers, with no restriction on the number of vouchers.

The bonus does not apply if the amount of the new purchase is less than or equal to the value of your voucher, nor does it apply to the remaining balance (i.e. the fare difference between the new ticket and the original ticket).

For example

Let's say you have a voucher worth €2,000. Depending on the price of your new ticket, you can benefit from a bonus of up to 15% added to the value of your voucher, i.e. a maximum of €300.

1st scenario
If the price of your new ticket is greater than or equal to €2,300 (€2,000 voucher + €300 bonus), you pay any fare difference above €2,300.
For example, for a €2,700 ticket, you would pay €400 (€2,700 - €2,300).

2nd scenario
If the price of your new ticket is between €2,000 and €2,300, you have nothing more to pay.
For example, for a €2,200 ticket, you would benefit from a €200 bonus.

3rd scenario
If the price of your new ticket is less than €2,000, you will be issued a new voucher for the remaining balance. This new voucher will not be eligible for a bonus.
For example, for a €1,700 ticket, you would be issued a new voucher worth €300.

How do I obtain a travel voucher or a refund for my paid options?

In all cases, your paid option(s) will be refunded in the same way as your ticket, regardless of the reason for the cancellation of your trip.

  • If your ticket is eligible for a refund, the option will also be refunded.
  • If a travel voucher has been issued for your ticket, the option will also be subject to a travel voucher.Important: In some cases, the amount of the option cannot be credited to a travel voucher. However, your option can still be used. To do so, when making your next booking, please provide your sales agent with the original reference number of the paid option (starting with 057).

We are making every effort to ensure that you will soon be able to use these travel vouchers online.
