Arid land and hot springs in the Cajón del Maipo

The Monumento Natural El Morado national park is the perfect excursion for adventurous travellers. Numerous treks and outings on bike or horseback are available to discover the glacier and its lagoon. As you traverse these natural area, a snowy peak rises up some 5,000 metres of altitude beyond the horizon.

After a five- or six-hour trek across the grassy valley to the desert paths around the lagoon, rest your legs at one of the many hot springs of El Morado. Lean back against the mountain rocks and enjoy the exceptional views over the chiselled summits of the Andes mountain range.

Waterfalls and prairies at the Radal Siete Tazas National Park

Extending over nearly a thousand kilometres, Chile's Central Valley is the country's most fertile land, where orchards and renowned vineyards grow. It also boasts some of the most spectactular views found within the many national parks along the Panamericana motorway.

Make your way to the Radal Siete Tazas National Park, located about 250 kilometres from the capital. This narrow, sinuous gorge carved out of the black balsalt rock by the Claro River and its seven waterfalls and natural basins – the “Seven Cups” are an invitation to commune with nature. Known as one of the country's most beautiful sites, these basins are linked by a series of marked trails that lead to sublime lookout points. It would be a shame to miss this natural heritage just a couple hour's away from Santiago.
