In a room adorned with blue and grey Fornasetti wallpaper, Gurdulù, which borrowed its name from a character in Italo Calvino's novel The Non-Existent Knight, opened in December 2015. Now a major player among Florence's restaurants due to the culinary creativity of its young chef Gabriele Andreani, it highlights raw materials, unique combinations of flavours and textures, refined plates and seasonal recipes. Gurdulù is a refuge of Florentine bistronomy.
In an intimate dining room that sits 30, the atmosphere is pared down, almost feng shui. Non-stop gastronomical experiences are to be expected: zucchini, tonka beans, red shrimp, burrata and saffron, black tea spaghetti, urchins, cherries and salmon caviar, duck with kumquats, capers and wasabi… and a “white on white” finish of white peach, white grapefruit and ginger and white chocolate! Indulge in this vision of Italian gastronomy like no other!
