Sequoia, the stationary cruise

To forget the hustle and bustle of the city, take a break at Sequoia on the banks of the Nile.

Feet in the water, the Sequoia stretches out to the northern tip of Gezira Island, in the district of Zamalek. There, on the restaurant's terrace, with teak wooden flooring, coffee tables, dim lighting, green columns and heated umbrellas in winter, embark on a stationary cruise on the Nile, with a view of the Fairmont Nile Hotel all lit up.

Once you set foot on the pontoon, all of your senses awaken. Enjoy flavours of Mediterranean cuisine in your plate, concentrated in hot and cold mezzes: sambousek (a small puff pastry filled with meat or cheese), grape leaves and zatouniya (sliced olives with green vegetables). Fall for the shish taouk (a kind of chicken kabob) or Mediterranean classics like moussaka and couscous. For dessert, opt for the pistachio mafrukeh (semolina pudding with pistachios). As for the service, it is on par with the place: impeccable!
